IELTS Mock Test in Patna: Full, Timed and Computer-Style

A full mock tells you more about your real band than a month of chapter-by-chapter study. You can take one from home anywhere in Patna, on the same kind of screen you will see on test day.

  • 15 full mock tests
  • 88 Listening and 52 Reading practice sets
  • AI band feedback on Writing and Speaking
  • 1-to-1 teacher sessions from ₹299

Why full mock tests matter

Many students in Patna come to IELTS from exams where the habit is to solve previous papers again and again. That instinct is right. The difference with IELTS is that stamina and timing matter as much as knowledge: about 30 minutes of Listening, 60 minutes of Reading and 60 minutes of Writing back to back, then Speaking. Doing sections separately never shows you what happens to your concentration in the second hour.

A complete IELTS mock test shows you:

  • Your realistic band in each module, not just your best day.
  • Where time runs out (very often Reading Passage 3 or Writing Task 2).
  • Whether your spelling, word counts and transfers hold up under pressure.
  • How tired you are by the time you reach the essay.

How our computer-based IELTS practice test works

IELTS Learning has 15 complete mock tests covering Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, for both Academic and General Training. The screens work like the computer-delivered IELTS, so you practise the clicks as well as the English:

  • A visible timer and a question navigator to jump between questions.
  • Flag for review for answers you want to revisit.
  • A highlighter and notes on Reading passages.
  • Drag-and-drop for Matching Headings and word-box summaries.
  • Typed Writing answers with a live word count.
  • Speaking prompts for all three parts, including a cue card with a real 1-minute preparation timer and 2-minute speaking timer.

Listening and Reading are scored instantly with a band. Writing gets an AI-estimated band for each of the four criteria with feedback, and Speaking gets AI feedback on your transcript. The free sample mock is complete, all four sections, and needs no card.

Taking a mock under exam conditions at home in Patna

A mock is only useful if you treat it like the real thing. Home in Patna can be noisy: traffic horns, wedding bands in the season, festival loudspeakers around Chhath and Durga Puja, and shared walls if you live in a lodge in Musallahpur or Mahendru. Plan around that.

  1. Pick your slot. Early morning on a Sunday is often the quietest time in most localities.
  2. Charge everything. Keep your laptop and phone fully charged and your Wi-Fi or mobile data ready, so a short power cut does not end the test.
  3. Use wired or closed headphones for Listening, and play the audio once only.
  4. Clear the desk. No phone, no dictionary, no notes. Water only.
  5. Tell the family or roommates you need three hours undisturbed.
  6. Do not pause. If you stop the timer to "just check something", the score stops meaning anything.

For Speaking, find a room where you can talk aloud without feeling self-conscious. Many students find it easier late in the evening when the house settles.

Using your results properly

The score is only the start. The real value is in the review hour after the test:

  • Listening and Reading: every wrong answer is saved to your Mistake Notebook. Sort them by type. Five wrong TRUE/FALSE/NOT GIVEN answers tell you exactly what to practise next week.
  • Writing: look at which of the four criteria is lowest. If it is Task Response, your ideas are the problem; if it is Grammatical Range and Accuracy, it is your sentences.
  • Speaking: read your transcript. Count fillers, repeated words and unfinished sentences.

Put your four module bands into the free Band Score Calculator to see how they combine into an overall band, and note which single module would lift your overall score fastest.

How many mock tests should you take?

There is no magic number, but a pattern that works for most students:

  • One mock at the start to find your baseline.
  • One mock every week or ten days while you prepare, with focused practice sets in between.
  • Two or three mocks in the final three weeks, at the same time of day as your real test.

Taking a mock every day is usually a mistake: you will not have time to fix what each one shows. Practice sets fix problems; mocks measure whether the fix worked.

Questions from students in Patna

Is the free IELTS mock test really complete?

Yes. The free sample mock includes all four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. You get instant bands for Listening and Reading and AI feedback for Writing and Speaking, and no card is needed.

Can I take the mock test on my phone in Patna?

The platform works on phones and laptops. For a full mock, a laptop is closer to the real computer-delivered test and makes typing your Writing easier, so use one if you can.

What should I do if the power goes off during a mock test?

Charge your laptop and phone before you start and keep mobile data ready as a backup. If the test is badly interrupted, treat that attempt as practice and take another full mock later, because a broken test does not give a reliable band.

Are your mock tests the same as the official IELTS?

Our tests follow the official IELTS format, timing and question types, and the screens work like the computer-delivered exam. They are our own material, and IELTS Learning is independent of the official test providers.

How close is a mock score to my real IELTS band?

If you take the mock under strict exam conditions, it gives a useful estimate, especially for Listening and Reading. Writing and Speaking bands are AI estimates, so a 1-to-1 teacher session can add a human check before your test.
