IELTS Mock Test in Chandigarh: Full Computer-Based Practice

A full mock is the closest you can get to test day without paying the exam fee. Whether you are in a Sector 22 PG, a Mohali flat or a Panchkula home, you can sit one on IELTS Learning tonight and get your Listening and Reading bands the moment you finish.

  • 15 full mock tests
  • 88 Listening and 52 Reading practice sets
  • AI band feedback on Writing and Speaking
  • 1-to-1 teacher sessions from ₹299

Why a mock test beats another practice set

Practice sets build skills. A full IELTS mock test tells you whether those skills hold up for nearly three hours under pressure. Many students in Chandigarh do well on individual passages, then lose marks on test day because they have never read for a full hour after a 30-minute Listening section.

A mock shows you:

  • Your real starting band, rather than a guess.
  • Where time runs out, often Reading Passage 3 or Writing Task 2.
  • How fatigue affects you, especially in the later Listening parts.
  • Whether you are ready to book, so you are not paying for a test date too early.

How the IELTS Learning mocks work

You can take a free sample mock covering Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking with no card needed. Full Access unlocks 15 complete mock tests for your track, Academic or General Training.

The screens are designed to behave like the computer-delivered IELTS:

  • A running timer for each section.
  • A question navigator to jump between questions.
  • Flag for review, so you can mark and return to doubtful answers.
  • A highlighter and notes tool for Reading passages.
  • Drag-and-drop for matching headings and word-box summaries.

When you finish, Listening and Reading are scored instantly with a band. Writing responses receive an AI-estimated band for each of the four criteria, and Speaking answers receive AI feedback on your transcript. Every wrong answer is saved automatically to your Mistake Notebook.

Taking a mock under real conditions at home

A mock only works if you treat it like the real thing. Home in the tricity can be busy, with family, delivery bikes and the occasional wedding band in the next sector, so plan ahead.

  1. Pick a quiet three-hour slot. Early morning often works well, before the day heats up and the household wakes.
  2. Use a laptop if you will sit the computer test. A phone is fine for practice sets, but the full mock is best on the screen size you will face on test day.
  3. Wear headphones for Listening and set the volume once at the start, as you will in the exam.
  4. No pausing, no dictionary, no phone. Tell your family you are unavailable.
  5. Do the sections in order: Listening, Reading, Writing, then Speaking. In the real test, Speaking may be on a different day, but practising it straight after Writing builds stamina.
  6. Write by hand if you will sit the paper test, then type your answers for feedback.

Using your results

A score is useful only if you act on it. After each mock:

  • Open your Mistake Notebook and sort errors by type: spelling, NOT GIVEN confusion, missed plurals, wrong headings.
  • Read the explanations for every Reading question you got wrong, and listen again to the Listening sections where you lost marks.
  • Compare your four Writing criteria. If Coherence and Cohesion is lower than the rest, your next fortnight should focus on paragraphing and linking, not on vocabulary.
  • Turn your Listening and Reading raw marks into bands with the free Band Score Calculator when you practise from books.

How many mocks, and how often?

Most students do not need dozens of full tests. A sensible pattern:

  • One at the start to set your baseline.
  • One every one to two weeks during preparation, with targeted practice in between.
  • Two or three in the final fortnight to settle timing and nerves.

If your bands stop rising, take fewer mocks and more focused practice sets. Taking test after test without studying the mistakes is one of the most common reasons scores stay flat.

A note for Chandigarh test takers

Test sessions are available in and around Chandigarh through IDP and the British Council, in both computer-delivered and paper formats. Check the official booking websites for current dates, fees and formats; we do not list them because they change.

Many students here are applying under tight intake deadlines for Canada, Australia or the UK, so it is tempting to book first and prepare later. A free mock this week gives you evidence before you commit money. If you are an Academic student, you can also tell us about your study plans, and with your agreement our overseas education advisers can suggest suitable universities and courses.

Questions from students in Chandigarh

Is the free IELTS mock test really complete?

Yes. The free sample mock includes Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, and you do not need a card. It gives you instant Listening and Reading bands and feedback on Writing and Speaking.

Is your mock the same as the computer-based IELTS at Chandigarh test venues?

Our screens follow the same official format and tools, such as the timer, navigator, flagging, highlighter and drag-and-drop. We are independent, so it is not the official test software, but it is designed to feel very similar.

Can I take a mock test on my phone?

You can, but a laptop is better for a full mock, especially if you will sit the computer-delivered test. Use your phone for shorter practice sets while commuting.

How accurate is the band score from a mock?

Listening and Reading bands are calculated from your correct answers, so they are a good guide if you take the test under real conditions. Writing and Speaking bands are AI estimates; a teacher session can give you a second, human view.

How close to my test date should I take my last mock?

Many students take the last full mock three to five days before the test. That leaves time to review mistakes without exhausting yourself the day before.
